Background & History
Family Promise of the Verdugos, FPV, opened in July 2010. It is one of over 201 networks across the country affiliated with Family Promise, a national non-profit organization committed to helping homeless families to achieve lasting independence. Family Promise helps mobilize communities by providing safe shelter, meals, and support services for homeless families. With the help of local congregations and volunteers, Family Promise of the Verdugos serves the geographic area that includes: Burbank, Glendale, North Hollywood, Pasadena, La Crescenta and Eagle Rock, California.
Family Promise of the Verdugos is a non-profit organization providing assistance to homeless families with children. We work in partnership with local faith-based congregations and other community resources. Family Promise provides food, shelter, counseling support and job readiness training resulting in self-reliance and a more stable future for situationally homeless families.
Family Promise of the Verdugos is an organization of committed individuals partnering with community organizations towards the goal of ending homelessness, one family at a time. By offering a safe family-centered shelter, employment counseling and housing leads, Family Promise assists homeless families to regain financial stability, hope and self-dignity. We strive to provide a community that offers a homeless family their chance at a stable home and a brighter future.
