On Sunday, October 20, Family Promise of the Verdugos hosted the 9th annual Empty Bowl luncheon at the beautiful Glendale First United Methodist Church. Over 400 guests attended the event to support the work we do each and every day for homeless families and children. Guests were able to take home a handmade ceramic bowl made by local potters while enjoying a wide selection of soups from local restaurants. And, for the first time in our history, Family Promise presented the Making A Difference Award! The awards were presented to the host congregation coordinators from our 13 host congregations, and are meant to express our gratitude for those who devote so much time and effort to our shared cause of giving families a hand up out of homelessness. We would like to thank all of our sponsors for helping us raise $15,000 in sponsorships alone. We look forward to seeing everyone in October 2020 for our 10th annual Empty Bowl. |
